JCCBI inaugurates the Héritage Champlain Pathway

Longueuil, August 26, 2026 – The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) inaugurated the Héritage Champlain Pathway this morning. This new public space marks the culmination of the original Champlain Bridge deconstruction project. Covering three sectors, Île des Sœurs, the St. Lawrence Seaway Dike and Brossard, the Pathway offers the public new places of commemoration, discovery and relaxation, while also encouraging active mobility. It represents the most visible legacy of a project that turned a major infrastructure at the end of its useful life into a lasting contribution to the community.

JCCBI'S projects and sites

Massive structures like the Jacques Cartier Bridge or Bonaventure Expressway have many needs. They may require electrical repairs, paving, steel painting, and many other types of work. Most of these operations are planned in advance as part of JCCBI’s proactive asset management approach. Our Operations and Maintenance teams may also identify a need following an inspection or report, while user needs may change over time.
