Announcement of the Jacques Cartier Bridge Illumination Project
To celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary and Montreal’s 375th anniversary in 2017, the Government of Canada announces a large-scale interactive light project for the Jacques Cartier Bridge. This major project will become a cultural legacy that enhances the city’s urban heritage.
More than 200 participants from all professional backgrounds worked on it for almost two years (creatives, engineers, lighting designers, project managers, programmers, rope access technicians, steelworkers, electricians, traffic officers, and more).
Project management was handled by The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated, while engineering work was done by the WSP-AECOM consortium and lighting system installation by Pomerleau.
