The Corporation is proud to help preserve this heritage building and is promoting the enhancement of this one-of-a-kind structure.
Renovation work is currently underway to repair the Île Sainte-Hélène Pavilion. They will be carried out over a two-year period. The goal is to extend its service life. Its Art Deco character will be preserved.
2025: First phase of work
restore the building’s exterior facades and two west towers
replace windows, doors and mosaics
restore the bronze bust of Jacques Cartier and the commenmorative bronze plaques
2026: Second phase of work
restore the building’s exterior facades and two east towers
replace windows, doors and mosaics
drainage work around the building
All of this work has been an investment in the future to ensure, among other things, that the pavilion lasts as a support structure for the Jacques Cartier Bridge.
