March: Spotlight on Engineering

We’re very proud of our engineers, who make up 34% of JCCBI’s workforce. National Engineering Month is an opportunity to showcase engineering excellence and the vital role played by engineers in Canadian society.

Diversity: Our Driving Force

At JCCBI, diversity is an asset. Our engineers come from a range of cultural backgrounds and draw on diverse forms of engineering expertise.

Here are a few figures (as of December 31, 2025):

  • 34% of our 179 staff members are engineers.
  • 31% of our engineers are women.
  • 25% of our employees are from racialized communities.
  • 5 engineering internships were completed in 2025.
  • 5 engineering fields: civil, building, construction, computer and electrical engineering.
  • 7 types of expertise: bridge and building structures, transportation, traffic, roadway, environment and sustainable development, electrical engineering and instrumentation.

An initiative of Engineers Canada, National Engineering Month is Canada’s premier celebration of engineering excellence. Observed every March, it features events designed to inspire the next generation of engineering professionals and highlight the role played by engineers in our society.

National Engineering Month is also an opportunity to appreciate the diversity of ideas, opportunities and people in engineering. It’s a profession where everyone belongs.
