Reconstruction of Bridge P-113 at the western approach to the Melocheville Tunnel

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated has maintained Bridge P-113, which spans the Petit Canal waterway in Beauharnois’s northern sector, since 1998. Having reached the end of its service life, the bridge will be replaced by a new structure designed according to current codes and standards, which will facilitate its inspection and maintenance while minimizing the impacts on Route 132, which crosses it.

The reconstruction will be carried out in two stages:

  • 2025: southern section of bridge
  • 2026: northern section of bridge

Other work planned in the area

  • Deconstruction of the median strip at the western approach to the tunnel and reconstruction of a new central strip.
  • Upgrading of the roadway at the tunnel approaches.
  • Replacement of various lamp post foundation blocks at the tunnel approaches.

Traffic maintenance during the work

During the work, which will be completed in 2027, traffic will be maintained on Route 132 and on the access road in the direction of Carrière Sud-Ouest. However, partial nighttime closures of the Melocheville Tunnel will be necessary for some of the more critical work.
