Notice to residents | Brossard: Change of site - Dismantling of the main span of the original Champlain Bridge
November 15, 2021 Champlain Deconstruction – Brossard

Dear Resident,

In May, The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCBI) advised you that the Léon-Gravel Park had been selected as one of the temporary sites for work to deconstruct the original Champlain Bridge during winter 2022. Following a study of all potential sites, the contractor Nouvel Horizon Saint-Laurent (NHSL) has now chosen the site owned by the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) adjacent to Léon-Gravel Park to dismantle the main span of the Champlain Bridge, which will be taken down in winter 2022.

Once the span is taken down, the dismantling work will begin in spring 2022. Different mitigation measures will be put in place to avoid adversely impacting the quality of life of nearby residents.
